A friend uplifts you when everything fails. Friendship is a unique relationship because, unlike family relationships, we choose to enter into them. In real life, especially in today’s world, it is not easy to sustain a real friendship. People with strong bonds experience less stress. No matter how strong their friendship is, some of them have fallen apart. Not every friend has such a positive impact. Some lie, some insult, some betray, and some of them are excessively in need. Some lucky people blessed with good friends who are like family.

Sangakkara and Mahela first met each other at the age of 16. They played only twice against each other in those days, in school level matches. Still, the wheel started to move when Sangakkara moved to Colombo, and both of them began to play club and international cricket together. These two legends redefined Sri Lankan cricket in more ways than one. Their contribution to cricketing in Sri Lanka was impeccable.

In 2006, Sri Lankan batting pair of Mahela Jayawardene set the World record partnership in Test cricket, as their partnership finished on 624 runs.
