Caroline Jurie was crowned Mrs. World 2020 at the pageant held in Las Vegas, United State by competing with 51 other contestants who overcame many obstacles thru her confident, courage, dedication and her patience.
She had managed to bring the Mrs. World crown back to the country after 35 years. As Sri Lankans, we are proud of the achievement. Former beauty queen and current Mayor of Colombo, Rosy Senanayake was the first Sri Lankan to win the title in 1984 at the first Mrs. World contest held in Queensland, Australia.
A mother of a two years old daughter and a loving wife and a woman who suffered from depression had attempted suicide on several occasions, now inspire future generations by showing that in her action, marriage or having children is not a barrier to pursuing our dreams.

In this “modern society” where our culture believes are still the same, we find many men and also women still show negativity, even in this century, by comments and cruel ways. The believes are always been that married women should sacrifice all her dreams to take care of the family and household work. Can a nation be proud of the talented and capable women under house arrest? Thru all of this time, all the support from her husband ,have been truly a blessing to her.
